Stained Glass Workshops

In the Shardscapes workshop you’ll create a unique ornament using offcuts and shards. It’s just as good (and cheaper!) as the ‘regular’ workshop, with the same variety of glass colours and textures to choose from.

You’ll learn the Tiffany stained glass technique – a timeless method of crafting intricate and colourful designs.

From selecting your pieces, creating a design on the go, some glass cutting to make things fit where needed, and foiling and soldering, this workshop will walk you through each step of the process.

Landscape

Anyone who would like to give working with stained glass a go. No prior experience necessary.

This is all about having a fun and creative day, while taking home your very own handcrafted ornament.

Please note: People with arthritis in their hands often find this workshop physically challenging. If you have arthritis, please let me know in advance so we can choose a suitable design together—one with fewer pieces, simpler shapes, or where a bit of wonkiness adds to the charm. That way, you can enjoy working with glass without unnecessary frustration.

The following workshops are fully booked: 13 July, 20 July, 25 July, 17 August. Sometimes extra dates will be added if there is high demand.

Cost: $145 / $175 including materials.

Please note: For workshops booked more than a month in advance, a $50 deposit is required within one week of booking. The remaining balance is due four weeks before the workshop begins. (Individual payment arrangements are possible—just let me know!)

Kereru in the making

For this beginner-friendly stained glass workshop, we will be working on a small ornament approximately 15-20 cm in size, consisting of 8-12 glass pieces. This ensures that everyone can complete their piece within the workshop timeframe while learning essential techniques like glass cutting, foiling, and soldering.

Stained glass work requires patience and attention to detail, so we’ll be focusing on manageable designs that allow you to practice key skills without feeling rushed. If you have any questions or design preferences, feel free to get in touch before the workshop!
