Hands-on and beginner-friendly Stained Glass Workshops

Join us for a one-day beginner-friendly stained glass workshop where you’ll create a stunning ornament featuring a native bird, small panel, or flower. You’ll learn the Tiffany stained glass technique – a timeless method of crafting intricate and colourful designs.
From selecting your design and cutting glass to foiling and soldering, this workshop will walk you through each step of the process. By the end of the day, you’ll take home your very own handcrafted ornament and a newfound appreciation for this beautiful art form.
This hands-on experience is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to explore their creative side in a supportive and inspiring environment.

About our 2-day Glass Mosaic Workshops

Over the course of two days, you’ll design and create your own mosaic using vibrant glass pieces.
You’ll learn how to:
- Cut and shape your own glass
- Select colours that bring your design to life
- Compose and lay out your mosaic on your choice of surface (either pre-painted wood, plywood, or glass for a stunning glass-on-glass effect)
- Explore the finishing process—decide whether to grout, seal, or leave your piece beautifully bare
Whether you arrive with a clear vision or want help developing an idea, you’ll be supported through each step of the process. Expect a warm, relaxed environment filled with creativity, conversation, and camaraderie.

No prior experience needed—just a love for making and a dash of curiosity.
Leave with a one-of-a-kind piece to be proud of and some new creative friends.

Who should attend
Anyone who would like to give working with glass a go. No prior experience necessary.
This is all about having a fun and creative day, while taking home your very own handcrafted ornament.

If you have limited strength in your hands
Please note: People with arthritis or limited strength in their hands often find these workshops physically challenging. Cutting glass requires strength and good hand coordination. If you can comfortably open a can with an old-fashioned can opener you should be fine :-). But if you can’t, please let me know in advance so we can choose a suitable design together—one with fewer pieces, simpler shapes, or where a bit of wonkiness adds to the charm. That way, you can enjoy working with glass without unnecessary frustration.

Please Note:
For these beginner-friendly glass workshops, we will be working on a small ornament approximately 15-20 cm in size, This ensures that everyone can complete their piece within the workshop timeframe while learning essential techniques like glass cutting, fitting the pieces, and for stained glass: foiling, and soldering.

Glass work requires patience and attention to detail, so we’ll be focusing on manageable designs that allow you to practice key skills without feeling rushed. If you have any questions or design preferences, feel free to get in touch before the workshop!
